Job Description

After recently closing a $4mil funding round from nib due to the success of our first two brands Youly and Stagger, we are looking to continue the expansion of our digital healthcare offering through new brands, treatments and healthcare services. Over the coming years, Midnight Health will become one of the leaders in our society’s transition to patient-led healthcare through digital technology. The Role

As a member of the executive team, our Chief Technology Officer will play a crucial role in contributing to the overall direction of the company and establishing themselves as a leader within the business.

Leveraging your previous experience managing high performing teams and understanding all aspects of the digital ecosystem, you will establish the systems and processes required to deploy new updates at a rapid pace while maintaining the highest standard of quality, security and clinical governance.  

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the technology team including team structure planning, hiring processes, goal setting and budgeting
  • Cost management for technology team including preparation of forecasts and adhering to budgets
  • Building and managing a high performing team to achieve monthly and quarterly output targets, including through remote teams where required
  • Engage with external stakeholders including nib technology team
  • Prepare and present technology strategy as required for future board or investor presentations
  • Meeting with executive team to understand business goals and align them with department-based goals and outcomes
  • Building and implementing all necessary processes and procedures to ensure correct recording of documentation, quality assurance, testing, deployment and workflow management
  • Work closely with executive team in planning the product roadmap and understanding the technological requirements for execution
  • Plan and manage cybersecurity initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
  • Researching and assessing the suitability of new technologies
  • Planning system architecture to ensure scalability for future growth
  • Researching and understanding requirements for integration with various healthcare provider technologies including medical practice software, specialist testing, pathology and others
  • Researching technology requirements for launching Midnight Health services into various international markets
  • Management alignment and expectations between marketing, technical and operational teams
  • Prepare regular reporting for weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings with executive management and other key stakeholders
  • Developing an in-depth understanding of the clinical governance requirements to be met for delivering the selected healthcare services

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 5 years as a CTO, CIO or Chief Engineer 
  • Experience managing teams of 30+ people
  • Engineering knowledge to a point where you are capable of managing a software engineering team working across Python, Django framework and JS web applications
  • Understanding and prior experience in leading development of iOS and Android applications is beneficial
  • Ability to lead architecture development to ensure scalability and efficiency for future growth as we scale from 5,000 customers to 1 million
  • Thorough understanding of Data structures, APIs and web infrastructure
  • Broad knowledge of Cloud (AWS) concepts, services and cloud architecture best practices
  • Prior experience and knowledge in cybersecurity implementation and best practices including PCI DSS, endpoint, cloud and platform security.
  • Experience in building and managing team workflow for high performance outcomes through such processes as Agile methodologies or similar
  • Existing processes from prior experience for documentation, testing and quality assurance
  • Experience and knowledge of the healthcare industry not necessary but beneficial
  • Prior experience in high growth startup environment is ideal
